We decided to sit together...she and i...

a nostalgia felt of much that had passed us by

of a lover dear and, a lover still unknown

the uncertainty of what lay ahead...no clarity shown.

And yet...the heart knew to beat...surpass the past

a  light of what was to come , on new beginnings cast

not wanting to let go of beauty known indulged in and shown

an intensity of intimacies most passionately grown.

but..the churning, the making of what lay ahead

demanding of both of us to put much to bed

 to look forth no matter the uncertainty that many challenges pose

for among all of it,  memories of past things, the body and mind forever knows.
