Once again...here i am

Once again... here i stand,
Before me... more than grand,
Huge, majestic,  eternally present ,
The rise of the Sun, the ebbing of the Ocean, a consistent event.
The urban jungle in all its coldness,
High rise and tall , be its boldness,
A concrete greyness created by man
An intrusive creation ... I would ban.
Come to think of it, do we even belong?
Having occupied this earth for so long...
Soon the smog, the muck and the litter
Our gift to earth, will pervade all...a destructive critter.
How dare we pride ourselves in being progressive...!...
When all we do is most certainly regressive
And even our behaviour toward each other
Should become a concern and, our still moments bother.
There is no pride there is no care,
The equilibrium of being, to upset ...we dare
With selfish excuses and attitudes arrogant
To bestow a cruel death on our environment.
Do we even see the damage we gift?
Do we even know ourselves from the edge of annihilation to lift?
The sad truth stares us in the face and says,
Let's leave it for the next generation...lets make the problem theirs.
What selfish shits we really are...
By then the destruction will have gone too far...
And thus dear Sun, dear Ocean I pray
We humans come right, so that your grandeur for generations to come will light their day.

RB.
