hyenas and predators

who can stop me from picking up a book
who can stop me from taking a look
peaking in on imagination shared
my mind to be challenged and dared
new worlds and ideas to take seat
opening new horizons a treat.

Only the ignorant and arrogant of thought
in themselves and their stupidity caught
claim that the written word
is a waste of time and not worthy to be heard
thus puppets to the hyenas and predators
falling prey to the propaganda orators.

When one is schooled and open in mind
the brain like a sponge new facts looking to find
not easily convinced in whatever is said
nor taking for-granted it be true whatever is read
but rather a careful approach to find out
and see what is real and without doubt.

Of course the minute u challenge a system
u make yourself a target and become a victim
to the puppets and brain washed zombies
who plod along behind others like donkeys
unaware of how grey and lifeless they are
the word of another their mindset did char.

To be free of the shackles of ignorance
to seek the wisdom of experience in abundance
and sometimes though it be painful the lessons learnt
rather that than due to ignorance be burnt.
