debauchery and bawdiness
One of my favourite series...
Richard E Grant said in one of the episodes of Hotel Secrets:
"I wonder what Andy Warhol would make of Miami today
A city populated by the kind of buff zombies who own all the appearances of celebrity but, none of the fame..."
"Miami - a city full of mannequin femme bods helping you part with your money"
"And you can make a name for yourself here but, it comes at a price......all a cathedral of conspicuous consumption whose congregation is in awe of the celebrity not the talent, that reveres the price tag more than the product."
Quotes i have taken out of context for they have struck a note in me.
An aspiration witnessed across board. Societies bent on capturing the appearance , the plastic, the Debt, the lie.
Wanting to be on the A-list radar....no matter the price.
..........................................................................
On another occasion:-
The epitome of debauchery and bawdiness....you have got to laugh and love it.
"Kaiser Wilhelm despite being the grandson of queen Victoria, hated the English, and he built this incredible luxurious schloss for his lawyer...
And in case you think tha'ts an incredibly demented generous thing to do, the reason was....his lawyer was married to a beautiful Argentinian heiress called Katalina, who he came here...Kaiser did.....and shtoeped her....over a hundred times....and used that secret staircase..."
Richard E Grant on touring Schlosshotel im Grunewald - Berlin.
The man is a genius narrator and an artist in the true essence.
