to win that intended race
there it was...a metaphor for all things aspired to
a picture perfect above a bed
majestic a mountain it can be said
the call to conquer the climb
sooner rather than later to set the time.
there it was...a metaphor that needed much planning
the base of the mountain broad
its presence the landscape does lord
its peak into the sky does rise
the approach to the challenge thought through and wise.
there it was...a metaphor challenging but, within reach
like anything in life that comes a calling
the uncertainty, fear and challenge the reason for stalling
but never losing sight of what needs to be done
and thus very soon in success oneself to sun.
how often father time just doesn't play along
ones urgency for things to happen to him not belong
and then one realises there's a time and place
when one will win that intended race.
