DNA interference

So when one thinks of a DNA strand, does it mean anything to the layman on the street? Does one understand the perfect structure, importance and intricacy of what that strand is?
Imagine every persons DNA structure is different to the next person, giving one the uniqueness of fingerprint and other physical features and attributes...it comes into existence when that little sperm, in its ferocious swim, penetrates a floating ovum.
Now ain't that a miracle. A miracle of life that maybe scientists can explain but, i think, they still scrambling  to define and understand the finer details of what a DNA strand truly is and the power of creating such a strand.
The scary part is that man has taken upon himself to play that 'creator' and thus dabbles in mix and match, copycat, trial and error...creating abnormal strands in the name of science.
A slow progressive...not survival of mankind as we know it... but, definite eradication of humanity, that came into existence years beyond our ability to fathom how long ago that really was.
And these humans that have taken upon themselves to play 'creator'...behind closed doors... what be their subject, what be their purpose...and that subject and purpose....is it truly tested on matters synthetic or are we all guinea pigs , in our own small way....toward something unnatural and inhumane.
The argument can be that were it not for science dabbling in the unnatural then much of what humans classify as miracles of the modern world, would not take place.
I wonder if this modern world is what was meant to be when that first living organism came about ....evolution...there are many ways of explaining what evolution may be but, one of the explanations is not the unnatural interference by humans....or is it?
